In hindsight, do you think pursuing this work through an independent research lab model (something like a mini-FRO) might have been more effective than doing it under a venture-backed structure, given the commercial constraints that come with VC investment?
I don't think so. We could be well placed to birth/foster a FRO in the future but right now are better suited to be a startup + build the muscle needed for foundational research by focusing on engineering + ops + canine in the real world first
